Collision results in impaired driving charge for local woman

CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP - On Nov. 28, 2018 at approximately 2:36 a.m, members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police charged a female driver after investigating a collision on King Street in Stayner.

During the investigation it was determined the female driver was impaired. She was arrested and transported to the Huronia West Detachment for breath tests. Two suitable samples of breath were provided, registering 130 and 140 mg/100mL blood. The vehicle was impounded for seven days and her drivers licence was suspended 90 days.

Thirty-six-year-old Nelly Morina of Collingwood was charged with:

  • CC 253(1)(a) adult driving while ability impaired - motor vehicle (alcohol)
  • CC 253(1)(b) adult driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood

She is to appear in Collingwood Court on Dec. 18, 2018.
