Drug trafficking investigation leads police to charge Wasaga woman after previously arresting Collingwood man

The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual following a drug investigation.

In September 2023, Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) initiated a drug trafficking investigation, arresting a 34-year-old male from Collingwood charged with several offences including firearms, drug trafficking, and domestic-related offences. A suspect was identified in relation to the arrested 34-year-old male.

On November 20, 2023, at approximately 11 p.m., the accused was observed travelling to the Greater Toronto Area. CSCU from Huronia West and Collingwood were able to intercept the accused as they entered the area of the Huronia West Detachment and conducted a traffic stop.

A 44-year-old from Wasaga Beach, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Cocaine
  • of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Breach of Conditional Sentence Order (CSO)

As a result of the investigation, the following property was seized:

  • 39.2 grams of cocaine
  • 0.4 grams of crack cocaine
  • 0.2 grams of fentanyl
  • Digital scales
  • Indicia of trafficking
  • $734.70 Canadian Currency

The accused was held for bail.
