Clearview woman killed, multiple others injured in collision

Two infant passengers transported to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening

A Clearview Township woman was killed and several others were injured, including at least two children, in a two-vehicle collision Saturday morning, according to the OPP.

The collision took place at 3-4 Sideroad Sunnidale and Concession Road 9 Sunnidale in Clearview just before 8 a.m., Huronia West Detachment OPP said in a news release.

Police say the deceased woman was a 31-year-old passenger from Township of Clearview who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of one of the vehicles was transported by Air Ornge to a Toronto trauma hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

An infant passenger was also transported by Air Ornge to a Toronto trauma hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Another child passenger was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

Multiple other passengers involved in the collision were transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and have been released, police said Sunday morning.

The area was closed for several hours while collision investigators and reconstructionists assisted with the investigation, which police said is ongoing.
