Border Services seize 6 kg of Ketamine headed for Bruce County

Police estimate the street value of the drugs at $243,000

A man has been arrested and charged after border services intercepted a package containing six kilograms of Ketamine headed for Bruce County. 

According to Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police, the package was discovered by Canada Border Services Agency. It was being sent from the Netherlands to an address in Hepworth, Ont. The estimated value of the drugs seized by border services was about $243,000. 

This month, the OPP Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit members with the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau launched an investigation into the crime and arrested a 41-year-old person from Holland Landing on Dec. 15. 

The 41-year-old was charged with two counts of importing a schedule one controlled substance, and possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking. 

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
