BEYOND LOCAL: Fire at Sauble Beach Fun World deemed suspicious

Police are asking for help from the public in their investigation of the suspicious fire at the amusement park

On August 24, 2019 at 1:32 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling the Sauble Beach community when they observed a building fully engulfed by fire at 701 Main Street, formally known as Sauble Beach Fun World. Officers at the scene estimated the flames to be 50 to 60 feet high.

South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire. The Ontario Fire Marshal did not attend.

The fire has been deemed suspicious in nature and Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate the occurrence.
