Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police continually engage in enforcement of the Highway Traffic Act and other Provincial statutes in the Township of Clearview.

On April 8, 2021 a traffic stop was conducted and as a result, an unsafe commercial motor vehicle and trailer were removed from the roadway. The driver was towing a loaded open trailer that lacked prescribed equipment under the Highway Traffic Act, which included no turn signals, and no brakes. The driver was also charged with having an insecure load of dangerous goods. The driver was also found to be under two driver's license suspensions. The license plates were seized off the truck and trailer and the driver is facing numerous charges.

Motorists are reminded that mechanical fitness also applies to towed vehicles.

The OPP would like to remind motorists that driving is a privilege and with that comes responsibility. Do your part to help make our highways safe for everyone.
