WASAGA BEACH – On Friday Nov. 5, 2021, six members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were recognized during an awards ceremony in Wasaga Beach.

Interim Detachment Commander Inspector Leah Gilfoy presented Police Exemplary Service Awards for 20 and 30 years of service, as well as a 25-year award for Ontario Public Service.

Wasaga Beach Mayor Nina Bifolchi was also in attendance to celebrate this momentous occasion.

POLICE EXEMPLARY SERVICE AWARDS FOR 20 YEARS OF SERVICE WERE PRESENTED TO:

  • Provincial Constable Steve Black
  • Provincial Constable Catherine Deakos
  • Detective Constable Tony Markic
  • Provincial Constable Gwyn Seymour

POLICE EXEMPLARY SERVICE AWARD FOR 30 YEARS OF SERVICE WAS PRESENTED TO:

  • Provincial Constable Donald Faller (Retired)

ONTARIO PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD - 25 YEARS WAS PRESENTED TO:

  • Staff Sergeant Derek Banks

This ceremony recognizes dedicated years of service within the OPP and the Ontario Public Service (OPS).
