The Town of Collingwood is hosting two virtual public meetings today to gather input for a review and future plan for Collingwood's transit system.

The town has hired a consultant to lead the transit study process and included the study in the 2021 budget.

As part of the study, the consultant is charged with reviewing the current routes in place and identifying opportunities for expansion, evaluating service delivery methods, and developing a five-year growth strategy.

The work will include a review of operation costs and ridership trends.

In order to get a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the current system, and needs for a future system, the town will be seeking input from residents through today's virtual public information sessions.

Two virtual meetings, one at 1 p.m. and one at 7 p.m. take place today (Feb. 4). You can find a link to the virtual meetings at the bottom of the Engage Collingwood page here.

Questions, ideas, and comments can be submitted in advance to [email protected]

You can also take an online survey, which will ask for your opinions on the existing Collingwood transit system. Click here to navigate to the survey.
