Collingwood's annual Santa Claus parade will be sweet this year.
Parade organizers announced today the theme for the November event will be "A Gingerbread Christmas."
Put on by the Downtown Collingwood Business Improvement Area (BIA), the parade takes place on Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. to take advantage of a dark sky for the Christmas lights.
The theme is supposed to bring back memories of Christmas baking and families decorating cookies and houses made out of gingerbread.
Registration is open now for float entries. There's no fee for community groups or non-profit organizations, but the commercial entry fee is $100. Businesses can also support the parade through sponsorships without entering a float.
