Collingwood residents can now register for their free parking pass allowing them to use the paid parking spots and resident-only spaces at Sunset Point and Princeton Shores.
The parking pass is digital-only and must be registered through the HotSpot website or mobile app.
Paid parking at Sunset Point and Princeton Shores started last summer as a pilot project and was approved for permanent implementation this year from the Victoria Day long weekend to Thanksgiving Monday.
The program allows free parking for Collingwood residents, though downtown parking still requires anyone using the lots or street parking to pay.
Residents can park anywhere at Sunset Point for free after registering for the resident pass, but there are also some spaces dedicated as resident only parking areas available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The resident spots are the 30 angled parking spaces adjacent to the Enviro Park and the Huron Street Parking Lot at Sunset Point.
Parking rates for non-residents will be $10 per hour to a daily max of $50 at Sunset Point and along the street at Princeton Shores.
There is a special pass rate ($100) for neighbouring residents from Wasaga Beach, Clearview, and The Blue Mountains.
To purchase a neighbouring resident pass or register for a free resident pass, use the HotSpot App by downloading it to your smartphone, or use the website htsp.ca.
You will be required to take and submit photos of your vehicle registration and a document to prove your residency (ID or a utility bill). Residents are allowed up to two free passes, each assigned to a different licence plate.
