On Oct. 19 2019, over 500 participants joined forces to raise funds for the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation by taking on the Everest Challenge.

The participants created teams of up to 20, to hike Blue Mountain and achieve a combined goal of 29,092 feet – the height of Mount Everest.

CGMHF would like to thank all of the event sponsors who played a big role in supporting the event and building community awareness:

  • Title sponsor - Huronia Alarms
  • Summit sponsor – Blue Mountain Honda
  • Official Legal sponsor – Barriston Law
  • Shuttle sponsor – Park Bridge Clif Bar, The Center and Columbia

Together with fundraising pledges, registration fees and sponsorship, the Everest Challenge raised over $300,000. The funds raised will support the purchase of two new operating tables for the Collingwood G&M Hospital.

“Thank you to the participants who bravely took on the Everest Challenge to raise funds for CGMHF and to the sponsors who made this event possible. Community support is the only reliable source of funding for equipment, technology and innovative programs at our local Hospital. Supporting events like this is one of the many ways our community rallies behind the Hospital to ensure it is equipped with up to date equipment and technology. Thank you for your continued support” said Jory Pritchard-Kerr, CGMHF Executive Director.
