NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF BLUE MOUNTAINS
********************************
The town will be installing a permanent pedestrian crosslight at the existing crossing located near the Beaver Valley Community School. The installation of the crosslight is scheduled for next week.

Following the retirement of the town’s long-serving crossing guard, the installation of the crosslight will ensure the continued safety of students and pedestrians in the area. The town would like to assure residents that crossing guard support will continue to be offered until the end of the current school year (June 2021), and the town will be assessing options going forward. The town has also received requests for additional crossing locations, and staff are continuing to assess all options.

The town is actively reviewing all available opportunities to maintain in-person crossing guard support, but to date, all recruitment efforts have been unsuccessful. If you may be interested in applying for the position, please contact the town’s Human Resources Department by calling 519-599-3131 ext. 244.
