The Simcoe-Grey Liberal party has elected their candidate for the 2019 federal election.

Lorne Kenney was elected as the local candidate for the Liberal party recently.

The party was choosing between Kenney and Bren Munro, both of Collingwood.

Kenney was formerly a professor of economics and Canadian studies at Seneca College. He has also taught at Carleton University, and for the University of Toronto in the Rothman School of Management.

Kenney ran as a Simcoe-Grey candidate in the 2014 provincial election, challenging incumbent PC Jim Wilson for the job. Wilson has held the position since 1990.
