Hospice Georgian Triangle is marking Volunteer Week by celebrating the helpers they are missing.

NEWS RELEASE
HOSPICE GEORGIAN TRIANGLE
***********************

Hospice Georgian Triangle is using the month of April to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who have been involved with the organization since its inception in 1987.

Interim Executive Director, Trish Rawn shares, “COVID-19, has meant that we have had to, unfortunately, suspend many of our traditional volunteer roles to follow public health and provincial guidelines. This has not deterred our volunteers as they have continued to find new, safe, and creative ways to support us. We are so very grateful for their resilience, determination, generosity, and compassion, and very much look forward to having everyone return to their 'normal' duties, hopefully, sooner rather than later. We miss you!”

April 18 to 24, is National Volunteer Week, and this year’s theme, “The Value of One, The Power of  Many,” reflects on the awe-inspiring acts of kindness by millions of individuals and the magic that happens when we work together toward a common purpose.

Hospice Georgian Triangle is celebrating by sharing inspiring stories, and important information through our website, social media channels, eblasts and radio. We are paying special attention to Volunteer Week with a safe and distanced “drive-thru” celebration, for our volunteers. The drive-thru celebration will also recognize both the 2020 and 2021 winners of the June Callwood Circle of  Outstanding Volunteers Award. The June Callwood Award was established to acknowledge and thank outstanding hospice volunteers throughout Ontario.

We are asking our community to help us spread the message and thank our local volunteers.

How can you get involved?

Thank you for your continued support of Hospice Georgian Triangle and the Hospice Georgian Triangle  Foundation.
