Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported another 10 lab-confirmed cases today, though none were in Collingwood residents.

There have been seven cases confirmed in Collingwood to date, including two people who have recovered, four people self-isolating and one woman in her 70s who was previously reported as self-isolating, but is now hospitalized.

Ontario has confirmed an additional 421 cases today. The total for the province is now 7,470 cases, including 291 deaths, 3,357 recoveries, and 760 patients hospitalized. There are 203 patients in Ontario currently on ventilators.

Collingwood General and Marine hospital is in emergency response mode, but that includes carrying on with delivering babies. There have been 36 babies born at Collingwood's hospital since the pandemic began.

Since the province has been focused on its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has meant a delay for the town's permit application with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to complete repair work at Sunset Point. High winds this weekend brought more damage to the shoreline.

CollingwoodToday has launched a new feature to recognize essential and frontline workers in Collingwood. CollingwoodToday would like your help in recognizing local essential workers from health care workers, to physicians, cashiers and delivery drivers. If you'd like to say thanks to someone you know, please send a photo, their name, their job title, and your words of thanks to [email protected]. Please only send photos and information with permission.
