On Monday, December 14, the Collingwood Public Library will be altering their services due to the change is COVID zoning from the Provincial Government.

“Due to the change in regional zoning, we have decided to alter some of our services,” says Chief  Executive Officer Ken Haigh. “This is to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff in the coming  weeks.”

For the safety of patrons and staff, the Collingwood Public Library has implemented the following changes to service:

  • All computers will be removed from the second floor and moved to the library’s main floor;
  • The library will limit 10 patrons in the building at a time;
  • In-person technology assistance is suspended;
  • Patrons are asked to limit themselves to 30 minutes per visit, respect the two-metre distancing rule and wear masks while in the building;
  • All washrooms will remain closed;
  • Room bookings will continue to be suspended.

The library will be allowing access to four public computers on the main floor. The time limit for computers will remain 15 minutes per use with one renewal for each patron.

Patrons will be able to continue browsing our fiction, children’s, and non-fiction collections.

For those who are not comfortable with browsing within the library, patrons can still place holds through the library’s website and collect their items from the public service counter.

Overdrive, Libby, Flipster, and the library’s app are available to browse and borrow materials. Those requiring assistance with online resources are encouraged to contact the library.
