Collingwood flies flag for International Women's Day

A flag raising ceremony at the Collingwood Public Library today included a proclamation by the town crier.

The Town of Collingwood raised a flag for International Women's Day at the Collingwood Public Library today.

This is the first year the town has planned official celebrations for the day, which included a panel discussion at the Simcoe Street Theatre earlier this morning. During the flag raising ceremony, the town crier delivered a proclamation, Mayor Brian Saunderson also marked the occasion with a speech, followed by My Friend's House executive director Alison Fitzgerald, and Sunny, a St. Mary's student, who shared her own goals and those of her female friends.

The flag is now flying at the Collingwood Public Library.
