Collingwood's clock tower will be illuminated in Blue on Easter Monday to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

A wave of Air Force Blue is set to wash over the country on Easter Monday, including right here in Collingwood, and it might even set a world record.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), buildings and landmarks across Canada and around the world are set to be illuminated in blue on April 1, including the Collingwood Town Hall clock tower.

As part of the effort to recognize the service of the men and women of the RCAF both past and present, everyone is welcome to join by registering their residence and/or workplace and sharing pictures of the buildings while illuminated on social media using the hashtags #RCAF100 and #100YearsOfFlyingBlue.

The hope is to break a Guinness World Record for the most landmarks illuminated within 24 hours.

To register your participation in the event and have your building(s) added to the list of locations that will be taking part, please email Capt. Aaron Niles at [email protected].
