Beaver Valley Outreach (BVO) presented four $1,000 “Making Good Things Happen Awards” at its annual general meeting on April 10, 2024 to deserving local organizations who made positive impacts in our community in 2023.

BVO is a recognized charitable, community-based organization of staff and volunteers that provides quality programs and services to further the social, economic and environmental well-being of The Blue Mountains community.

In keeping with its mission, the awards were a major highlight of BVO’s celebrations commemorating its 40th Anniversary in 2023. The four winners were selected by BVO from nominations received from the community.

And the winners are:

  • Pollinate The Town of The Blue Mountains
    • Taking action to improve native pollinator habitats in The Blue Mountains.
  • Scoop2
    • Helping to create a community of responsible pet owners who care for their environment by helping to eliminate pet waste and litter on local paths, trails and streets.
  • Climate Action Now Network TBM
    • A volunteer group in The Blue Mountains working towards a more sustainable community by reducing our carbon footprint.
  • Thornbury Jazzworks
    • Presenting jazz concerts for the community and supporting local student music education.

Congratulations to all the winners for their contributions to “making good things happen in our community!”
