CollingwoodToday welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected] or via our site. Please include your daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication). The following letter was in response to the drone light show put on by the Collingwood Downtown BIA during Sidelaunch Days this weekend.

Saturday night at the harbour was something to see, a drone show. Touted as the way of the future by a few of our councillors.

Does anyone remember Etch-a-Sketch or the Lite Brite toys of days gone by? Pretty high-tech for the time, as I recall.

We attended, not really knowing what to expect and hoping for an enjoyable evening event.

I hope the town will do a survey to see what the folks of Collingwood thought of this idea.

It was a totally underwhelming event in my opinion and I hope that the parks, recreation, and culture department can get their act together and make arrangements for fireworks in the future.
