Editor,

I am writing to express my anger with Mr. Greenfield, the protester who argued that COVID restrictions 'don't make sense anymore'.

To date, 7,263 Ontarians have died from COVID-19. Stop and think about that number for a minute.

Death from COVID-19 is miserable. You drown in your own fluids. Due to the infectious nature of COVID-19, family members cannot be with you during your last moments on this earth.

Not only are Mr. Greenfield's comments disrespectful of the 7,263 Ontarians who have died but what about the members of the medical community who have worked tirelessly to try and preserve lives during this pandemic.

Restrictions such as wearing a mask, socially distancing, washing your hands frequently and placing communities under public health and workplace measures, all make perfect sense.

Restrictions are working to save lives and although we still have a long way to go, with vaccines now going into arms, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Mr. Greenfield openly bragged that he has a good immune system. I wonder if Mr. Greenfield will register for vaccination in either Thornhill or Meaford?
