The following letter is in response to a previously published letter entitled: LETTER: Given China's track record, Beijing Olympics should've been shelved

Editor,

Although I agree with everything Christopher has stated regarding China and the Olympics, I question whether the token gesture of not watching the events is the most effective way of dealing with China.

Take a look around your home, I would take a quick guess that at least 30 per cent of the items you have purchased over the last five years were made in China: TV, stereo, tablets, phones, appliances, clothing, hardware and on.

But it's not your fault!  Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Canadian Tire, all your various dollar stores even grocery stores are chock full of goods from China.

These large corporations are certainly aware of the issues with China and they have a choice. Maybe the boycott should start with them.
