Two more staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 at Simcoe Manor in Beeton.

The long-term care home has been in outbreak since Oct. 2 when COVID-19 was first detected in the home. Since then, 43 residents and 31 staff members have tested positive. Ten residents have died.

According to the most recent reporting from the County of Simcoe, of the 74 total cases, 29 resident cases have recovered, and 27 staff cases have recovered.

Of the four active resident cases, three are recovering at the home, while one is in hospital.

Staff members still recovering are isolating at home, as per the home’s protocols.

The home, located in the town of New Tecumseth, is owned by the County of Simcoe, but officials from Barrie's Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) were brought in in October to manage the outbreak at the facility following a provincial order.
