Collingwood Loblaws store has posted an update to its Facebook page in order to address "concern in the community."

Loblaws has confirmed six employees at the Collingwood Loblaw store have tested positive for COVID-19 since late November.

Loblaws told CollingwoodToday in an email on Dec. 8 two of those cases have recovered and "more than a dozen other team members" have been told to self-isolate at home.

In today's post on the local store's page, the company notes three of the cases are now recovered.

"From the time we were notified of multiple cases in our store, we have deep cleaned the store twice, both times overnight as to not disrupt service to our customers and to ensure a thorough clean," states the company's social media post.

The local store also added six additional cleaners to its daily schedule to clean high-touch surfaces.

The health unit has not declared a workplace outbreak at the Collingwood store, but Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit's medical officer of health, Dr. Charles Gardner said it is still under investigation.

According to the post, all employees were able to get tested as a precaution and the tests that were done have produced negative results to date.

Those who were deemed close contacts of the confirmed cases were asked to self-isolate for 14 days and monitor for symptoms.
