Five new COVID cases confirmed in Simcoe County today

The region's health unit has confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County today, including one boy under 18 years old. 

Three of today's cases are Barrie residents, including a woman between 18 and 34 years old, a boy under 18, and a man between 65 and 79 years old. Including today's cases, there have been six new Barrie cases reported in the last two days.

There are also two New Tecumseth residents among today's new cases, including a man and a woman between 18 and 34 years old. 

The transmission source for all five of today's cases is still under investigation. 

Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has now reported a total of 713 coronavirus cases in the region, with 678 of the cases in Simcoe County. Of those, 642 cases are now listed as recovered and 37 people have died.

There are 32 cases of COVID in Simcoe County not reported recovered, including 25 in Barrie, three in Bradford, two in New Tecumseth, one in Innisfil, and one in Essa. One person is hospitalized in Barrie.
