Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has not yet updated the list of lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County and Muskoka. The region's medical officer of health, Dr. Charles Gardner, is scheduled to deliver an update via Facebook Live today at 4 p.m.

There remain three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Collingwood residents. A man in his 50s is reported recovered, a man in his 30s and a man in his 50s are both self-isolating and both are reported cases of community transmission.

The province has reported an additional 411 cases and 31 deaths – the highest reported by the province in a 24-hour period – in this morning's daily update. The total number of confirmed cases in the province is now 6,648, including 253 deaths, 2,858 recoveries, and 691 current hospitalizations.

Want to encourage an emergency services worker? Say it with a cookie. The Collingwood Girl Guides are looking for community donations for cases of cookies - which they couldn't sell door-to-door this year. The cases, once covered by donations, are being dropped off at local emergency services.

Since the province's prohibition on new construction, the area's development industry has been impacted significantly. The president of the Georgian Triangle Development Institute says the COVID-19 is likely going to exacerbate the area’s attainable housing crisis, workforce capacity challenges, and backlog of needed municipal infrastructure projects.
