The Town of The Blue Mountains is pleased to announce that Fire Chief Stephen Conn was awarded the Ontario Medal for Firefighter Bravery on Thursday, June 22, 2023, by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
The Ontario Medal for Firefighter Bravery was established in 1976 to honour firefighters who have gone above and beyond to protect and serve their community.
Chief Conn received the medal for his actions on January 11, 2022 when he responded to an emergency call for a house fire. As the fire rapidly spread through the home, Chief Conn climbed a ladder to rescue the trapped individuals.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to congratulate Chief Conn on receiving the medal and for his continued dedication and service to the community.
