The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to share additional details regarding Open Fields: The Blue Mountains Farm Tour.
The free, self-guided farm tour will take place on Saturday, September 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features five locations, plus an additional opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art apple packing and storage facilities at Bay Growers Inc.
The five host farms are:
- TK Ferri Orchards (496415 Grey Road 2, Clarksburg)
- The Farmer’s Pantry (788030 Grey Road 13, Thornbury)
- Georgian Hills Vineyards (496350 Grey Road 2, Clarksburg)
- Silver Springs Farms (609027 12th Sideroad, Ravenna)
- Kimber Valley Farms (236087 Beaver Valley Road, Kimberley) Note: this location opens to the public at 11 a.m.
Each location will provide a different experience. Educational tours, workshops, demonstrations, Farmers Markets, vendors, live entertainment and fun family games are some of the activities that can be expected at different stops. Bay Growers Inc. is excited to offer tours of their facility, located at 828114 Grey Road 40, Clarksburg. Tours are being offered at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required, and tours are limited to 20 guests per timeslot. Registration is available online.
Open Fields is a rain-or-shine event. Visitors are reminded to wear proper footwear for a day on the farm. Some locations may require guests to check in upon arrival or use a boot wash station for biosecurity purposes.
