NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS

A community survey has been issued to gain feedback and ideas from residents regarding the creation of a Leisure Activities Plan for the Town of The Blue Mountains.

The goal of the Leisure Activities Plan is to anticipate and plan for the growing and changing recreational activity needs and desires within the community. When complete, the updated Leisure Activities Plan (LAP) will identify and prioritize community wants and desires and recommend a sound and realistic course of action to deliver recreation facilities, programs, and services to our residents. The study will identify opportunities for recreation and examine the need for a multi-use recreation facility.

To complete the survey online, please visit the following link and sign in or register to create an account: https://yourview.thebluemountains.ca/leisure-activities-plan.

Paper copies of the survey will be available at Town Hall and other municipal facilities as they reopen to the public. The deadline to complete the survey has been set for Friday, October 2, 2020.

“The creation of a Leisure Activities Plan is important to ensure proper planning for recreation infrastructure investments and to also ensure that the entire community has access to varied recreational opportunities,” explained Councillor Peter Bordignon. “Feedback and input from residents is extremely important as it will help to ensure that recreational preferences are incorporated into an actionable plan”.

The results from the survey will be reviewed and analyzed by the Leisure Activities Plan Steering Committee, which includes Dunbar and Associates and Town staff. Project updates will be posted regularly to the project page on the Towns public engagement website: https://yourview.thebluemountains.ca/leisure-activities-plan
