The Town of The Blue Mountains water and wastewater division announced this week that the town was awarded first place in the drinking water taste challenge at the spring 2023 Georgian Bay Waterworks Conference held at Deerhurst Resort in April.

Drinking water samples were submitted by five municipalities, and conference attendees voted for the best tasting water in a blind taste test competition. The town was rewarded with a free one year membership in the Georgian Bay Waterworks Association.

“Every member of the water division works day in and day out to ensure the town’s drinking water system is maintained to the highest possible standards,” said Allison Kershaw, manager of water and wastewater services. “I’m extremely happy to see the team rewarded and recognized for their hard work.”
