Pacheco brings an extensive professional background in public works, with a career spanning over 23 years in various public sector roles

Alan Pacheco is the new director of operations for the Town of The Blue Mountains.

The Town of The Blue Mountains has announced that Alan Pacheco is the town’s new director of operations, effective Thursday, May 23, 2024.

As director of operations, Pacheco will be accountable for all activities related to town roads and transportation infrastructure, water and wastewater management, environmental initiatives, and engineering work related to development and capital projects for municipal infrastructure. 

Pacheco brings an extensive professional background in public works, with a career spanning over 23 years in various public sector roles across the City of Vaughan, City of Toronto, York Region, Town of Oakville, and City of Brampton.

Most recently, Pacheco served as the Manager of Road Operations in the City of Vaughan, where he led many citywide transportation initiatives and played a key role in pioneering the use of artificial intelligence technologies in modernizing road operations. These innovations earned recognition and awards from several organizations, including the Ontario Public Works Association, the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators, and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario.

Previously, Pacheco served as the Manager of Road Operations at the City of Toronto, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of a 120-staff team and contributed to the effective delivery of various corporate initiatives, including Vision Zero Toronto and the Transportation Strategic Plan.

Outside work, Alan enjoys coaching soccer, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Pacheco has a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Leadership and various professional certifications in road supervision and technical areas. His expertise is accredited by the Ontario Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists and the Association of Road Supervisors.
