With winter drawing to a close in the coming weeks, half-load restrictions will be coming in effect throughout the Town of The Blue Mountains.
The town is advising the public that half-load restrictions come into effect on March 1, 2024 for a variety of roads within the town, pursuant to bylaw 2010-54. Where axle weight restrictions signs are in place, the bylaw is in full force and effect.
Half-load restrictions may be extended beyond May 31, 2024, depending on weather and road conditions. A detailed map, available online here, has been produced to highlight the impacted roads. The roads highlighted in red are subject to half-load restrictions when axle weight restrictions signs are in place.
The town does not provide axle weight restriction exemption permits for construction-related activities. More information about the town’s seasonal road maintenance can be found on the webpage here.
