One new case of COVID-19 reported in Grey Highlands today

There are currently 32 active cases in Grey-Bruce - including two cases in Grey Highlands and two cases in TBM

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) is reporting five new cases of COVID-19 in the region today. 

The new cases are located in Brockton (2), Grey Highlands, South Bruce and Hanover. 

“The numbers have been stabilizing to a baseline of around two to four per daily, which is quite manageable, quite predictable based on the trajectory we've seen before,” stated Dr. Ian Arra, medical officer of health from GBHU in his regular address to Grey County Council on Thursday.   

The health unit has reported a total of 640 cases in the region to date, and notes there are 32 active cases in both counties combined. 

Two individuals from the region are being hospitalized, with one patient currently being intubated. 

Active cases in Grey County are currently located in Owen Sound (5), Grey Highlands (2), West Grey (3), The Blue Mountains (2), Hanover (6), and Chatsworth (1). 

According to Arra, transmission of COVID-19 in the region continues to be happening predominately in private settings. 

“Important to note that the majority of the transmission currently is taking place in private settings like households and private gatherings,” he stated 

The health unit is currently tracking 64 high-risk contacts associated with active cases.

Of GBHU’s 640 cumulative cases, 608 cases have recovered.

Resolved COVID-19 cases in Grey County include: Owen Sound (92); Southgate (81); Grey Highlands (65); Meaford (23); West Grey (44); Blue Mountains (40); Hanover (28); Georgian Bluffs (7); Chatsworth (7).
