In today's situation report, the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit (GBHU) is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 in Grey Bruce in the past 24 hours.

The health unit is reporting one case each in the Town of the Blue Mountains, which now has four confirmed cases of COVID-19; Southgate, which has seven cases; and Chatsworth, which previously had no cases.

On April 30, the GBHU announced that one of the previously positive cases of COVID-19 that had been detected in a resident at Sepoy Manor was actually a false positive. This discovery allowed the long-term care home to remove its outbreak status.

Incorporating the false positive and the three new cases of COVID-19, brings the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Grey Bruce to 82.

Fifty-five of the 82 cases in Grey Bruce have recovered and there are currently no hospitalizations due to COVID-19.

GBHU also reported the previously declared COVID outbreak at the Maple View retirement home has been declared over as all staff and residents have recovered.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County include - Owen Sound (44); Southgate (7); West Grey (5); Blue Mountains (4); Grey Highlands (3); Georgian Bluffs (1); Meaford (1); Chatsworth (1); Hanover (0). Bruce County currently has 16 confirmed cases.
