The Town of The Blue Mountains has announced there will be a memorial space available for the public to place items in honour and memory of the lives of the 215 children who were found buried on the grounds of a former residential school in Kamloops.

The memorial is located west of town hall in Thornbury near the Riverwalk platform and will be in place until June 22.

The mass grave was found on the grounds of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. It's discovery was announced last week.

The town is encouraging community members to place shoes, letters, or other memorial items at the site.
