The Municipality of Grey Highlands has launched its new waste collection calendar tool to make it easier for residents to stay connected with waste and recycling collection programs.
"We are trying to keep up with the digital age and be environmentally conscious. This tool helps us achieve both," said Director of Environmental Services Shawn Moyer.
Residents can visit the website to find the garbage, recycling, and special pickup collection schedule specific to their house address.
Local residents can also sign up for waste collection reminders by email, phone call, or text message.
They can download their collection schedule into their iCal, Google calendar or Microsoft Outlook calendar, or print out their collection calendar.
Residents can also search the Waste Wizard to learn how to recycle or dispose of materials properly.
"To continue to expand on our services, the municipality now has a tool to make it easier to access collections schedules, receive reminders and make sure you never forget to put out recycling again," says Coun. Danielle Valiquette, Environmental Services council liaison.
