Grey Highlands council salaries, expenses $370K last year

Grey Highlands council cost just over $370,000 in 2023.

Council received its annual remuneration report at a recent meeting. The total cost of council wages and expenses in 2023 was $373,024.

The report details council expenses for salaries, meeting pay, benefits, mileage, IT/phone allowances, conferences/education/memberships and per diems from other organizations.

Council expenses were as follows:

Mayor Paul McQueen - $79,026 total, including:

  • $39,500 in salary,
  • $11,100 in meeting pay,
  • $13,804 in benefits,
  • $8,187 in mileage and
  • $6,435 for conferences/education/memberships.

Deputy Mayor Dane Nielsen - $57,203 total, including:

  • $29,500 in salary,
  • $8,100 in meeting pay,
  • $11,890 in benefits,
  • $1,881 in mileage and
  • $5,832 for conferences/education/memberships.

Coun. Nadia Dubyk - $51,252 total, including:

  • $22,500 in salary,
  • $8,550 in meeting pay,
  • $10,835 in benefits,
  • $4,126 in mileage,
  • $833 for IT/phone allowance and
  • $4,408 for conferences/education/memberships.

Coun. Paul Allen - $49,645 total, including:

  • $22,500 in salary,
  • $10,200 in meeting pay,
  • $11,114 in benefits,
  • $1,361 in mileage,
  • $833 for IT/phone allowance and
  • $1,232 for conferences/education/memberships.

Allen also received $2,405 in per diem pay from the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority.

Coun. Dan Wickens - $48,598 total, including:

  • $22,500 in salary,
  • $4,350 in meeting pay,
  • $10,102 in benefits,
  • $3,750 in mileage,
  • $833 for IT/phone allowance and
  • $7,063 for conferences/education/memberships.

Coun. Joel Loughead - $48,468 total, including:

  • $22,500 in salary,
  • $4,800 in meeting pay,
  • $10,151 in benefits,
  • $1,938 in mileage,
  • $833 for IT/phone allowance and
  • $7,273 for conferences/education/memberships.

Loughead also received a per diem of $973 from the Nottawasaga Conservation Authority.

Coun. Tom Allwood - $38,832 total, including:

  • $22,500 in salary,
  • $6,150 in meeting pay,
  • $8,427 in benefits,
  • $769 in mileage,
  • $833 for IT/phone allowance and
  • $153 for conferences/education/memberships.
