Grey Bruce Health Unit reported 132 new COVID cases captured through lab testing in the region in the last 24 hours.
The new cases include seven people from The Blue Mountains and 13 people from Grey Highlands.
Among the other cases reported today are 24 people from Owen Sound, four from Meaford, 15 from Hanover, 13 from West Grey, nine from Brockton, nine from Kincardine, eight from South Bruce Peninsula, six from South Bruce, five from Arran-Edlerslie, four from Southgate, three from Neyaashiinigmiing, three from Northern Bruce Peninsula, three from Saugeen Shores, two from Huron-Kinloss, and one from Georgian Bluffs. Three cases were reported with location information unknown.
Because of limited access to PCR testing, it is expected that case counts are underestimated.
The health unit reported 720 active cases in the region and six people from Grey-Bruce are hospitalized because of COVID-19.
There are 36 active cases in The Blue Mountains, 42 in Grey Highlands, and 27 in Meaford.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Grey Bruce Health Unit has reported 4,361 cases, 3,611 recoveries and 17 deaths.
As of Jan. 6, more than 76 per cent of the region's population over five years old has two doses of a COVID vaccine, and 33 per cent has three or more doses.
