A new case of COVID-19 reported in Grey Highlands today

The Municipality of Grey Highlands now has six confirmed cases of COVID-19

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit (GBHU) is reporting one new lab-confirmed COVID-19 case in the region in the past 24 hours.

In the situation report released at 4:00 p.m. today, GBHU confirms one new COVID-19 case in the Municipality of the Grey Highlands. Grey Highlands now has six confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The Grey Bruce region has now seen a total of 89 COVID-19 cases, with 70 cases now being reported as recovered. No one in the region is currently being hospitalized for COVID-19.

Two long-term care (LTC) facilities remain in outbreak status due to COVID-19 - Parkview Manor in Chelsey and Brucelea Haven in Walkerton.

GBHU also confirms that universal testing has been completed at 14 of its 19 LTC facilities, including the testing of both residents and staff.

The health unit expects to have all of the region's LTC facility testing completed prior to the May 15 deadline set out by the province.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County include - Owen Sound (44); Southgate (9); Grey Highlands (6); West Grey (5); Blue Mountains (4); Georgian Bluffs (1); Meaford (1); Chatsworth (1); Hanover (0). Bruce County currently has 18 confirmed cases.
