Wheelie-popping motorcyclists draw police attention

WASAGA BEACH - On Sept. 1, 2019 at approximately 12:29 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received several complaints in regards to three motorcycles operating dangerously on Shore Lane east of 57th Street in Wasaga Beach. The motorcycles were operating at a high rate of speed popping wheelies.

During this time, police conducted patrols and located three motorcycles in relation to the traffic complaints. Three male parties from the Toronto area were identified and have been charged accordingly with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic offences:
    •    CC 230.17 adult flight from peace officer
    •    CC 320.13(1) adult dangerous operation
    •    HTA 130(1) adult careless driving
    •    HTA 62(2) adult without proper headlight-motorcycle
    •    HTA 7(1)(b)(i) adult drive motor vehicle, no plates
    •    HTA 32(1) adult drive motor vehicle - improper licence

Police are seeking assistance from witnesses/or dash cam footage and are advised to contact Huronia West OPP at 705-429-3575.
