Wasaga Beach senior facing child pornography charges

WASAGA BEACH - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Digital Forensic Unit, and Huronia West OPP Detachment have arrested and charged a Wasaga Beach man following a five-month investigation relating to the possession of child sexual abuse material.  

On July 30, 2019, Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Wasaga Beach. As a result of this investigation, Mr. Kenneth Urquhart, 61-years-old, was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Multiple electronic devices were seized for further examination.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on July 31, 2019.\

The Ontario Provincial Police will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children.
