Two teens charged with stunt driving in Meaford

Police say the 17 and 18-year-olds were clocked at over 135 km/h in a posted 80 zone

GREY HIGHLANDS – On May 24, 2021 at 9:34 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped two (2) drivers that were following each other at a very high rate of speed on Highway 26, near Woodford Crescent, in the Municipality of Meaford.  

Grey Bruce OPP clocked these vehicles on radar at over 135 kilometres per hour (km/h) in this posted 80 km/h speed limit.  

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Kody Winget, 18, from Grey Highlands and a 17-year-old driver from Meaford, with stunt driving - 50km/h or more over the posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA).  

Both accused were issued a provincial summons to attend court, a seven-day drivers licence suspension and their vehicles were towed and will be impounded for seven days.
