Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid impaired driving charges against two people who came through a Nov. 4 RIDE check in Meaford.

According to a news release, the area OPP set up the RIDE check on Grey Road 15 and Sideroad 33 in Meaford, and charged a 32-year-old from Meaford with impaired driving charges after police suspected he had consumed alcohol.

A 46-year-old from Georgian Bluffs was issued a three-day driver's licence suspension after registering an "alert" on the roadside alcohol screening device. The person was charged with having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

"The Grey Bruce OPP has a zero tolerance for motorists that choose to drive while impaired by alcohol or drug," states the news release.
