On July 1, 2019, shortly after 10:30 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a distraught male during a traffic stop.

Police brought the 32-year-old male for a medical assessment at an area hospital. Since that time, an allegation has been made against the involved officers.

The OPP has notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and they have invoked their mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at 1-800-787-8529.
