WASAGA BEACH - In the early morning hours of Sept. 5, 2017, an Ontario Provincial Police officer with the Huronia West detachment was involved in a brief suspect apprehension pursuit. A short time after the officer terminated the pursuit, the vehicle being pursued became involved in a collision with a second vehicle.

The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Tony Loparco, has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against the OPP officer in relation to the serious injury sustained by the 57-year-old driver of the second vehicle.
