THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene of a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

The collision took place shortly before 2:00pm today on Scenic Caves Road in The Blue Mountains where a motorcycle went off the roadway and into the ditch. The operator of the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital and later airlifted to a Toronto area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) were on scene and as a result of the ongoing investigation, Scenic Caves Road was closed for several hours between Grey Road 19 and Swiss Meadows Boulevard.

The road has since been reopend.

OPP officers are investigating a single vehicle crash on Scenic Caves Road in The Blue Mountains and have closed the road as a result of the continuing investigation. One person was transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
