A Wasaga Beach resident has been charged after police executed a search warrant this week.

In January, Huronia West OPP began investigating someone who was allegedly trafficking drugs in Wasaga Beach and Collingwood.

On Wednesday at about 2:30 p.m., police executed a search warrant for the accused’s residence and vehicle. They seized 11-and-a-half grams of cocaine, two tablets of suspected Percocet, $280 in Canadian currency, and a cellular device.

Ashik Patel, 22, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine). The accused is set to appear in court at a later date in Barrie.
