Police search for suspect after assault in Wasaga Beach

A heavy police presence on Cedar Grove Parkway off Beachwood Road in Wasaga Beach last night was due to an assault, according to Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police. 

The OPP confirmed in an email to CollingwoodToday that officers were called to the area on April 30 shortly after 11:30 p.m., where they found a 49-year-old victim with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

The victim was taken to hospital and police are investigating the incident as aggravated assault. 

"There is no threat to public safety," stated OPP in the email.
