Police investigating assault in Wasaga Beach

Victim suffered serious injuries in early-morning incident Saturday

On Oct. 22, shortly after 2:30 a.m., members of the Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to an incident involving an assault that occurred in the Town of Wasaga Beach.

The victim of the assault was subsequently transported to hospital to receive medical attention for serious injuries. Police believe that this was an isolated incident and that there is no concern for public safety at this time.

The Huronia West OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate this incident in conjunction with the OPP Forensic Identification Service.

Police are asking anyone with information with respect to this incident to call their nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
