Police investigating after vehicle abandoned following crash

Police found the vehicle at approximately 2 a.m. today after it left the roadway and hit a hydro pole before coming to rest in a yard

Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing their investigation into a fail to remain collision which took place on Pretty River Parkway in Collingwood. 

At approximately 2 a.m. this morning, officers located an abandoned vehicle near Pretty River Parkway with damage showing that it had been involved in a collision. The Investigation at scene found that the involved vehicle was travelling on Pretty River Parkway, went off the roadway, crashed into a hydro pole and came to a stop in a backyard of a residence nearby. 

The roadway was closed, and a search was commenced however no person(s) involved in this collision was located.

Police believe it's possible the involved person(s) could have sustained injuries as a result of the collision. 

The investigation is ongoing at this time and anyone with information that may help locate the involved person(s) to help confirm they are not injured, is asked call Collingwood OPP at 1-705-445-4321 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
